The Graduate programs at PKFokam Institute of excellence admit 25 students each year. Admission decisions are based on a combination of factors, including academic degrees and records, the statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, test scores,
and relevant work experience.
The Institute considers the appropriateness of your goals to the degree program in which you are interested and to the research interests of the program’s faculty. In addition, consideration may be given as to how your background and life experience would contribute significantly to an educationally beneficial mix of students.
Admission Requirements
PKFokam Institite of Excellence offers admission to applicants who appear to have the highest potential for graduate study and who, with the benefit of a graduate education, are the most likely to contribute substantially to their academic or professional fields through teaching, research, or professional practice.
The minimum graduate admission requirements are:
1. A bachelor’s degree with major in your chosen field or academic equivalent
2. A satisfactory scholastic average, usually a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 (B). Satisfying minimal standards, however, does not guarantee your admission, since the number of qualified applicants far exceeds the number of places available. As a result, many well-qualified applicants cannot be accommodated.
3. Proof of a sufficient command of the English language (TOEFL) to meet course study and assessment requirements in every respect.
4. A statement of purpose
5. Three letters of recommendation (request letters from persons who have worked with you as a student and are able to comment on your accomplishments and potential for graduate education)
6. A completed application form
7. Official transcripts of all college-level work. Official transcripts must be in sealed envelopes as issued by the school(s) you have attended.
Request a current transcript from every post-secondary school that you have attended, including community colleges, summer sessions, and extension programs.
8. The Institute will organize a written or oral test for shortlisted applicants.
9. A curriculum Vitae.
Online Application
Applicants must complete the online application, and, if applicable, send any hard-copy supporting materials in one package by the designated application deadline.
Otherwise, application forms can be obtained directly from the Institute or by writing to the Institute.
Applications can equally be submitted at the Institute or by mail by the designated deadline.
