Faculty of Science and Technology

The Faculty of Science and Technology is made of up of the Department of Computer Engineering, the Department of Information Technology and Engineering and the Department of Construction and Mining Engineering. For the 2009 academic year, only the Departments of Computer Engineering and Information Technology and Engineering of the Faculty of Science will offer degree programs.

Department of Computer Engineering

Undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering:

The dual Undergraduate degree Program in Computer Engineering is a double degree program offered in 9 semesters is designed for students wanting a maximum technical preparation for their career. Students spend first seven semesters on the Yaounde campus, travel to SPSU for their two senior semesters and then return to Africa for the last semester which is devoted to internship before graduation.

Graduate degree in Computer Engineering :

The three-year dual Graduate degree Program in Computer Engineering is for students wishing to enhance career options. Students spend the first year on the Yaounde campus, the second year at the SPSU and return to Africa for the final year which is devoted to internship. Courses focus essentially on reinforcing graduates’ capacities to successfully apply computer knowledge to address real world opportunities and challenges, especially in Africa.

Department of Information Technology and Engineering

Undergraduate degree in Information Technology and Engineering:

The double Undergraduate degree Program in Information Technology and Engineering offered in 9 semesters prepares students for a career involving the strategy, development, and administration of integrated computing, network and web systems. Students spend the first seven semesters on the Yaounde campus, travel to SPSU for their two senior semesters and then return to Africa for the last semester which is devoted to internship before graduation.

Graduate degree in Information Technology and Engineering:

The Graduate degree Program in Information Technology and Engineering prepares students for leadership roles in the area of information technology. It is a double three-year degree program. Students spend the first year on the Yaounde campus; the second year at the SPSU and return to Africa for the final year is devoted to internship. Our curriculum focuses on effective IT transfer. Students are equipped to specialize in and explore IT areas that have the potential of enabling Africa tackle its many social and economic problems.

Department of Construction and Mining Engineering

The Department of Construction and Mining Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in mining engineering.

Undergraduate degree in Construction and Mining Engineering: This program offers students the opportunity for solid preparation for careers in the mining industry and an excellent foundation for graduate studies. It is a four-year degree program.

Graduate degree in Construction and Mining Engineering: The program gives students research opportunities for leadership and practical competence in the field of mining. It is a three-year degree program.
